I’ve been playing a Mini Six Detective Noir game for some time now, and it’s been a blast! I’ve decided it’s time to start sharing my fun with everyone. I haven’t entirely figured out how I’m going to write things up, so bear with me as I find my style and format here. When I play, I usually take bullet points in Obsidian, so turning those bullet points into a cohesive story will be a challenge for me. Let’s get down to it, and I’ll list the tools I’m using.
Tools:
Rules Set: Mini Six by Anti-Paladin Games
Oracle: I started this game using the Game Master’s Apprentice Cards.
Dice rolls: I use a combination of Dice and OpenD6 Toolkit for iPhone, you can download from the Google playstore I believe.
Random Tables: The Book of Random Tables 1920s -1930s, an awesome source.
Bing AI Image Creator for inspirational images.
ChatGPT (for sentence structure and grammar only).

Jack "Sully" Sullivan is a sharp-witted, no-nonsense private detective in his late 30s. With a reputation for being tough as nails and always getting the job done, Sully has earned the respect—and sometimes the fear—of the city’s underworld. He’s got a gravelly voice from too many late nights and too many cigarettes, a penchant for bourbon, and a code of ethics that’s as rigid as it is outdated.
Sully is tall and lean, with a chiseled jawline often shadowed by stubble. He wears a fedora tilted low, a well-tailored but worn trench coat, and polished shoes that have seen better days. His eyes are a brown, always scanning for danger or the next big lead. He carries a .38 snub-nosed revolver in a shoulder holster under his coat and never leaves home without his trusty notepad and pen.
Backstory:
Before becoming a private eye, Sully was a claims investigator for a major insurance company, tracking down fraudsters and solving high-profile cases. But the corruption he saw in both the insurance industry and law enforcement drove him to leave and start his own detective agency. Now, he takes on the toughest cases, from missing persons to insurance fraud, and even the occasional murder.
Sully got his nickname because, despite his success, he’s always scraping by, a man who’s constantly a step ahead of the bill collectors. He’s not in the business for the money, though—he’s driven by a relentless pursuit of justice, or at least his version of it. Sully is haunted by the death of his former partner, who died in a shootout that Sully blames himself for. This guilt drives him to always be the first one in and the last one out, no matter how dangerous the job.
Personality:
Sully is cynical, quick with a sarcastic quip, and doesn’t trust easily. He’s seen too much betrayal and corruption to believe in much anymore, except for the value of a good drink and a clear conscience. Despite his hard exterior, Sully has a soft spot for the downtrodden and those who can’t defend themselves. He’ll go to great lengths to help a client in need, even if it means bending the law or taking a bullet.
