The purpose of these “hooks” is to give a small set up or “hook” for a Game Master to build upon.
Mission
The Rebellion has received a cryptic transmission from a space station orbiting Dant, warning of the dangerous technology being developed on the planet. The players are tasked with investigating the origin of the message and the sender. Posing as mercenaries, the players will survey the surface for mineral deposits and provide reconnaissance on local bandit activity. These bandits are suspected to have ties to a Hutt syndicate. The players' mission is to investigate the origin of the warning message and the sender. They will need to navigate the underground cities, avoid detection by the Imperial forces, and possibly deal with the local bandits. Their cover as mercenaries will allow them to move freely, but they must be careful not to blow their cover. The players will need to gather information, make allies, and possibly confront the Imperial forces to complete their mission. The fate of the Rebellion could depend on their success.
Planet Dant
Dant is a harsh, arid planet revolving around a white dwarf star. The planet's surface is bombarded with high levels of radiation from the star, making it deadly for those without resistance or proper protection. Despite the harsh conditions, Dant is home to a variety of unique flora and fauna that have adapted to thrive in the radioactive environment.The planet has three major cities:
Zephyr: The largest city and the planet's administrative center. It's known for its bustling markets and vibrant nightlife.
Oasis: Named for the lush vegetation that surrounds it, Oasis is a hub for scientific research and technological development.
Dusk: The smallest city, Dusk is a quiet, residential area with a close-knit community.
In addition to the cities, there is an Imperial base and a secret Imperial lab connected by an underground rail system. The lab is working on anti-repulsor lift and blaster technology, which could prove disastrous for the Rebellion.
Bandits
The bandits are a ragtag group of outlaws who have managed to survive on the planet's surface. They are rumored to be in league with a Hutt syndicate, providing them with valuable resources in exchange for protection and supplies. Despite their rough exterior, the bandits are deeply loyal to each other and will go to great lengths to protect their own. This makes them a formidable opponent for anyone who crosses their path.
Flora and Fauna
Despite the harsh radiation, Dant is home to a variety of unique flora and fauna that have adapted to the radioactive environment. The most common plant is the Radiant Cactus, a glowing plant that thrives in the radiation. It's not only a source of light in the underground cities but also a vital ingredient in many local medicines. The most notable fauna is the Dantian Sandworm, a massive creature that burrows through the planet's crust. These creatures are dangerous if provoked but generally avoid populated areas. Their hides are highly resistant to radiation, and their teeth are used in local craftsmanship.
Radiation
The radiation on Dant is a constant threat to those without proper protection. It's so intense that repulsor lift engines and blasters do not work on the planet's surface. However, the locals have developed technology to shield their cities and vehicles from the radiation, allowing them to live and travel safely underground.
